Baby colic solutions from different parts of the world

Baby colic solutions from different parts of the world
Infant colic is a dysfunction that affects almost 30% of babies around the world. Does not understand race, social position or gender. It is more common in the western world, but there are also cases in these other areas of the world. Today, we give a review of different home remedies that exist to relieve gas and colic in different parts of the world.

We will start with India. India is a country with ancestral traditions of aromatherapy, ointments and teas. One of the most interesting remedies that we have found, has been a te / syrup that they create to help expel gases. In English, it is called influenza water and it is a mixture of several medicinal herbs. Its main component, fennel, helps to expel unwanted gases.

All followed, we will travel to Morocco. There, the family tradition says that to calm the discomfort of a baby's gases you have to heat oil (olive or argal) and give gentle massage in the baby's belly. In Morocco there is a great tradition of oils, and it is one of the only countries where argal oil has been used for many generations. Because of this, we find a solution that reflects the country's culture. By heating the oil, we are applying heat to the newborn's belly and the gentle massages help to alleviate the discomfort.

Traveling to the Chinese continent, we have seen that it is very common to treat the problem of colic with acupressure. This, has some key points that helps regularize the intestinal transit of the smallest, also helping their development. Traditional Chinese medicine has always relied on acupuncture and it has existed for millions of years. In Spain it is not very common, but it can be a good ally and complement to the treatments that we have here.

If we change the continent, and travel to Latin America, in Peru the family tradition that passes from generation to generation recommends applying heat to the belly by applying a warm cloth. By applying heat, as we already know thanks to our Wawa Band, we relieve the pain that the baby feels. At the same time, if there are stagnant gases, we help to expel them.

In the African continent, babies spend most of their time in contact with their mother and are carried on their backs. This tradition, causes, that fewer babies suffer from colic. In addition, they have the ability to perform breastfeeding on demand. Because they are in constant contact with their mother's body. All these coincidences help to reduce the amount of crying.

Taking a trip to different parts of the world helps us many times to understand why a thing works or not. Or how can we do it, even if it is not our tradition, to help our little one. Without a doubt, we see very clearly that the heat is certainly recurrent. Whether heat applying oils, applying fabrics or human heat. At Kusi Wawa we are happy to have found a way to help the little ones to apply this heat quickly and safely.

And finally, in any scenario you can sense a lot of human contact. A lot of massage, carry the baby. It is the most emotional part, which we achieve through the application of the Theory of 5 S by Dr Harvey Karp.
In short, we see that many times we find different sides of the same coin. Why the solution is not complicated, or mysterious. A lot of heat and a lot of love. In short, it is the only thing they need.
