How do I use the Wawa Band correctly?

How do I use the Wawa Band correctly?

Every day, we get doubts from many moms if they are using the Wawa Band correctly. As you well know. The Wawa Band is the tool that we have created to relieve the smallest of intestinal ailments, such as gas or disquecia. The effect of thermotherapy, acts as an analgesic for what alleviates pain. Besides helping to regularize the traffic and to expel all stagnant gases.
The Wawa Band, is also part of the first part of the Kusi Wawa Method, which is a much more complete method, which calms babies who are suffering from infant colic. It is a very complete method that combines thermotherapy with the emotional support our children need to calm them down. If you are interested in learning more, visit our Kusi Wawa Method section on the web, where you will find information about this and a video tutorial.
But, today we are going to focus on the use of the Wawa Band. What do we use it for and when?

We have to think that there are several situations in which we can use the Wawa Band, so we are going to separate the use scenarios according to the baby's symptoms.

1. Gases. If we use the Wawa Band to relieve a baby's gas, the best way to use it is as follows. We are going to put the Wawa Band on the baby when we see that he starts to find it uncomfortable. We are not going to anticipate the gases. We put it on when the baby starts crying or getting uncomfortable (no need for crying). Some moms ask if they can put the band while they eat to anticipate the gas. At first, it would not be very useful to do it because we do not know if they are going to give it gas or not. It is better to wait until they arrive in order to apply it. It should also be noted if the baby is uncomfortable eating with heat. It may be that you do not like it and this causes you discomfort. With what we would be losing with the attempt of anticipation. If you want to put it while eating, we recommend putting the band before you start eating so that the baby acclimatizes to the temperature. And then start eating. Even so, our recommendation is not to do it and wait to put it on when the child starts showing gas symptoms.

2. Disquecia. The disquecia are those cases of babies that have trouble going to the bathroom. When they go, they cry a lot, they get very red and they seem to push, but nothing comes out. Although when they go, the stools are normal. In these cases, we can anticipate that the baby begins to cry. As babies tend to be fairly regular, what we will do is observe when our little one has a greater tendency to go to the bathroom. At what time of day. Then, we'll try to put the band on it before it starts to writhe. For example, if your baby usually goes to the bathroom in the morning, we would put the Wawa Band right after the first shot in the morning. We would leave it for half an hour and, probably, we will find a gift after this time.

3. Infant colics. We must bear in mind that colic is a mixture of intestinal discomfort with the need to receive emotional support from us. It is for this reason that with the Wawa Band we will not have enough and we will need to apply the second part of the Kusi Wawa Method (as we mentioned above). To use it correctly, we will initiate the method when the baby breaks into tears. As colic is usually quite regular (every day usually start at the same time), after performing the method a few weeks when the baby already knows the effects of this, we can begin to anticipate the arrival of colic.

4. Can I put the Wawa Band on to sleep? We do not recommend it. First, why the Wawa band will not be performing any function. Remember that our seed cushion is natural, so little by little it loses temperature until it reaches a point that already returns to room temperature. Considering this, when it is no longer applying heat, it would no longer have any function and for that, we should not leave the Wawa Band on. At the same time, all pediatricians agree that the baby should sleep with the MINIMUM of accessories in the bed. The Wawa Band, in short, becomes an accessory, so we should remove it automatically after use. Remember that the Wawa Band should ALWAYS be used under the supervision of an adult. If we go to sleep, we should not leave the baby with the band on. It would have to be removed.

5. From what time? Another question that is often repeated is the time when we can start using the bandit. In general, babies usually begin to have intestinal discomfort in the two weeks of life. So we recommend starting its use then. It is always advisable to wait for the umbilical cord to fall before starting to use it.
