Solve your baby's colic

Solve your baby's colic
Colic is one of the things that most concern new dads. If they are new, why everyone talks about them (although you can never imagine what it really is). And if they are not first-timers and have already gone through them, why do they know what awaits them?

It is a stage that makes young children and their parents suffer a lot, because it is very difficult to calm a baby with colic.

Mainly, you will recognize them because they are babies that instead of crying they seem to scream, they get very red, almost as if they lack air. They move their arms and legs a lot, and they are in a lot of tension. They are very difficult to calm and it is that when we live a situation like that it says: "I have tried everything". It seems that sometimes everything is not enough.

We wanted to find a way that would allow us to calm our newborn. With colic that lasted 5 hours a day. We undertook the arduous task of finding a way to help her. We test with medicines of all kinds and syrups. With all the charge of conscience we had to give it to a newborn, we saw that equally, they did not solve anything. And is that our little girl needed much more.

That's when we came across the Kusi Wawa Method. A combination of tradition passed from family to family in my husband's family. Where they explained to us that they applied heat to the baby's belly with a heated cloth. That's where we saw the light because when applying heat, the baby calmed down. And, we set out to find a way to apply this heat quickly, safely and effectively. With this, we created the Wawa Band. A belt whose function is to keep a seed cushion on top of the baby's belly. This cushion contains an aromatic mixture that helps, at the same time, to relax the child. To emphasize this security, we add a device whose function is to warn us when it is too hot to place on top of the baby's belly.

As a complement to the band, and to get really calm the newborn, you have to offer the baby the emotional support it needs. A lot of contact with their parents, a feeling of being wrapped up and a lot of care. To do this, we follow the 5S that Dr Harvey Karp teaches, to help our little one to relax. First, we should lull him well, to give him the same feeling of security that he felt when he was in the mother's belly. Also, cooing, we managed to practice restraint (that is, we avoid the rapid movement of arms and legs that only causes more nerves in the baby). As a second step, we proceed to hold the baby in our arms. We put it in a position that feels comfortable. We swing it and make a relaxing noise. Either a song that you like, a shhh or a constant mmmm. Once we repeat these actions for a while and see that our baby is calmer, then it is time to offer the suction. This way we will get to relax and even sleep.
