The joy of being one more in the family
Becoming a mother has been one of the most wonderful experiences that has ever happened to me. The relationship with myself has improved, love with my husband has grown and the relationship with my daughter is what makes me happiest in this world. And I'm not going to lie to you, there are no words that can express the immense joy you feel when you become a father for the first time in life. Many things that did not make sense make sense for the first time. The world takes a turn and things that once mattered ... now no longer. And there is NOTHING in this world that puts things in perspective as a child.
However, this is not the only reality of motherhood. Motherhood is a huge change in your life. You go from being you and your partner to being three. To have a person who depends on you 24 hours. And it is not easy. Why babies will not get to the chest at first. Milk, it will not get you up on the first day. There will be tears. There will be fears. There will be many doubts that will come out and you are even ashamed to feel them.
There will be hard times. Maybe your baby may have cramps and, despite knowing that your baby is okay, you will feel powerless to not know how to calm him. You will become a bad mother.
But the reality is, we've all been through it. That you are not the first and you will not be the last. And that, if you have more children, it probably will not be the last time you feel it. Why every new child, is a new doubt. It's a new fear. Because when you have become accustomed to one ... then you think you have two and you ask yourself again if you know how to do well. If you can. If you will find the balance.
Because ultimately, as the pain of childbirth, which is not so beautiful ... we forget. And we only remember what makes a mother so special: that first breath, that face that makes you die of love, that smell ... and her look today, her laughter, her antics, her hugs, her kisses that wet her expensive. There will be hard times ... because there will be. But no doubt, you will only remember the joy of being one more.
